Lightarmour Editions - LE20

Copenhagen’s Institute for the Criminally Insane released a classic underground album in 1994 titled “Gekippt” which received critical praise and a deservedly devoted cult following (present to this day). Back then the album was introduced to me by a colleague and collector of all things Industrial - who insisted he’d stumbled upon something special that stood out from the ever-growing EBM caricature cut-outs; after a proper listen I had to agree completely.

Apart from the obvious hit - a brilliant cranked-up cover of D.A.F’s masterful “Der Mussolini” - the track that always stood out, to my ears, was the atmospheric “Aquanoid” with it’s edgy soundscape, street-smart lyrical pictures, and the cool allure of Bo Heidelberg’s distinct voice and electronics with songwriting partner Kim G. Hansen.

Cut to the present, and Lightarmour Editions is proud to embark on releasing both classic and new ICI material. By way of poetic justice, the first outing is a remix of Aquanoid - “Night Tribe RMX” extends and amplifies both the cinematic depth and chrome electronic glee of the original, lovingly mastered in HD detail as a tribute to the inspiration those great EBM/Industrial albums proffered to us all. Aquanoid (Night Tribe RMX) is a gritty narration set amidst a late night stroll through neon-and-rain-soaked city streets, amidst “Night Tribes”, “Love-Slaves in Gold”, cats screaming like babies, and distant thunder. It’s an alternate soundtrack to Decker’s tense scenes in that futurist city of flickering shadows and human misadventure.

The Night Tribe remix is included on the upcoming Aquanoid CD.
